Rachel, also an upper east side resident, has been a go-to friend for my borrowing needs. Her closet is chock full of F21 and H&M, but her eye for color and balance makes her outfits look straight out of Saks.
Some advice from the savvy-shopper? While she balances her time between thrift stores and higher-end retailers, Rachel advises to go ahead and buy more expensive pieces that will truly render you a happy woman. "Looking great makes everyone feel confident, so it's worth it." Touche!
Above, Rachel works the wide-legged pants with a fitted sheer blouse and burst of color (we bonded over our mustard obsession). Best part? The entire outfit cost less than $100.
Top: Allison Taylor (second hand), $8.99. Pants: Mlle Cabrielle, $15.99. Shoes: MIA, $49.99. Scarf: H&M, $12.99
When was the last time you bought a heavy fall coat for the same price as five chipotle meals? (Apologies, my monetary comparisons are often food-related).
Coat (specifically a shearling suede jacket): vintage, $34.99. Shoes: MIA. Pants: H&M, $34.99. Top: F21, $22.
Hat: vintage. Top (denim): H&M, $29.99. Pants: Gap, $49.99. Shoes: F21, $19.99.
Round of applause for Ms. Schaub, who is showing NYC how fashion is supposed to be done. More pictures to come, check back this weekend. Everyone enjoy their Columbus Day weekend!
