Last week I discovered the most amazing little thrift shop in NW DC. So amazing, I am hesitant to share with you the name and location.
However, if you promise not to raid its contents every day, you should stop by the St. Alban's Opportunity Shop located on Wisconsin Ave. (right next to the National Cathedral). Items are very reasonably priced, and the volunteers that work there are super nice. The store is small, with racks for skirts, blazers, tops, pants, and dresses. There is also a small closet full of vintage dresses and extremely nice shoes (if you are around size 8-9).
I visited the Opportunity Shop with fairly low expectations, but came out with six awesome clothing items for $62. I have already worn each piece since last week, and I of course wanted to share with you some of the outfits I put together.
Top: Express (second hand), $3. Jeans: F21. Shoes: Max Studio.
Within minutes, my second hand clothing radar was blaring (I get a tad competitive in small spaces with cheap clothing). I had a massive bag with me and a just-purchased coffee, but having full range movement was vital for the success of my shopping. After stowing my bag and apologizing too all the old women I was knocking into, I began my quest!
The first top I came across was a beautiful sheer Express top. Tucked in, the shirt doesn't look too shabby, and I love how it looks with fitted jeans.
This top was one of three, so check back soon to see the other great pieces the Opportunity Shop had in store.
In the meantime, you should:
1) try a second hand or thrift store for your Halloween costume
2) subscribe to my blog (that way I know people are actually reading!)
3) visit the Opportunity Shop and let me know what you find
That is all. Stay tuned!

I will definitely try to get there!
