It seems that plum, rust, and mustard are taking over this season's color palette. The rich colors are perfect for Fall, reminiscent of changing leaves.
After falling in love with Rachel's mustard scarf , I was determined to add a splash of mustard to my own wardrobe. Between Forever21 and H&M, the choices ranged from knit scarfs to sweater dresses. I ended up with a $14 floor-length dress, that offered endless styling-options (I told you I had a weird thing for maxi dresses/skirts).
In between styling. Would the neon yellow flats have been too much?
Dress: F21, $14. Top: F21, $12. Flats: Sam Edelman (second hand), $16.
This top has yet to be worn [by me]. Friends have borrowed, but in the past, I can never seem to work it into my entourage without it looking too... see through?
Mustard is fun to play around with. The color is almost a neutral, which essentially means it goes with anything (next time I'll try a grey blue, light grey, emerald green, or red).
With so many stores buying into mustard, no doubt this color will soon be everywhere. Why spend tons of money on one mustard piece when you could have, well, tons of mustard instead?
